deja voo

14jan17

this is an extension of the other blog  photo. the double exposure makes it
kinder trippy. behind the blur is the telly, a video and my records. the poster
is a bought one , the poster on the left came with the swindle video. i didn't really
have many possessions

you couldn't take them any where

i like this photo, true working class punk

a good photo of a few work mates, silly billy and mick.
taken at allens creek bridge. on the shift work gang

after the fridge , and with being on the shift work gang. i got a little extra
cash. i really missed going for rides. i brought this brand new at $75 a fornight
over 18 months. i had a drivers license, what they called a black license, so i
could get l plates and ride this. plus i could ride on main roads and dirt.
this is at my flat, the bike was heaps bigger than the old 2 stroke motocross
bikes. heavier and higher, them old motocross bikes never had the mono
shock, that came with the yamaha yz. on a few occasions, i rode an old 500 tt they
were dual shock also.

i knew this bloke, nigel. he had a bike. so we decide to go for a ride.
we ended up robertson pie shop. on the way back we decide to ride
along the railway track road. although we had never been on this road track
before. i knew it lead to a dirt road which went along the escarpment back
to wollongong. what we didn't count on was washaways. what washaways
are, is when it really rains, the land that's in the way gets washed away. this can
leave very big craters or  even wash the road away. you can see how deep this is.
(just this little bit 4feb17 . maybe someones trying to tell me something. a tv commercial
had the word washout in it, then an old country song came on with the wash out.
so they're probably called wash outs . washaway, washout still dangerous

nigel was more luckier than me, he was gonna overtake me on the left. it was about
20 or 30 foot down there with a bit of concrete sticking out. there was a small
piece of the road on the right, i could of used. it happened real quick. probably doing
about 45 km per hour plus, it went up slightly then nothing, you couldn't see it coming.
i just hit the bank on the other side, you can see the peak of the helmet on top.
as soon as my head hit the bank i got an instant case of deja vu, from the
branch avenue incident. the bike was okay , there was plenty of travel in the forks.
i got nigel to take this photo after i took the other one. i turned the petrol off,  we
had a cig while waiting for it to cool down. it wasn't that hard getting the bike
out.this makes me think of another accident i had in the late 70s. a similar situation
but a little bit different. it did involve a washaway but on a long straight with a
slight hump in the middle . the water washed all the dirt leaving big rocks. i was flying
in fourth gear over the hump bang on the rocks, couldn't handle it. i winded myself,
and dislocated my left shoulder, bent the handle bars and broke the clutch lever. i
had to ride home with one arm ,no clutch. i stacked 3 times on the way home ,
about 20 km , 10 of which rocky hilly tracks. my arm was in a sling for a week.

this is a is a horizontal flip view, just to put the thing into prospective
then the vertical

to me this  is one of the weirdest photos i have ever taken. it was taken
straight after the crash, i would have been in the state of shock. a time after ,
you got to understand that it's now over 30 years since, i was going
through the negatives, probably sorting them out or putting them together
whatever. i seen a face that looked like me, i thought what the fuck is
that. it was hard just looking at a negative small frame. them artists had
a machine they used for making screens for printing , it made a
negative image. so i talked one into making me a negative photo, so
i could check it out more closely. i think they thought i smoked too
much pot. there was no photoshop back then. i didn't really
think much of the photo, but it is sort of weird.

there you have it, i hope you enjoyed that little tale. i'm not quite sure
on whether tale is the right word, is tale believe it or not, and fact just that
this has elements of both.
